WHO IS WYATT AEROSOL SYSTEMS?
Dr. Philip Wyatt, President and founder, received his Ph.D. from the Florida State University and his M.S. from the University of Illinois. He has a B.A. in physics and mathematics from the University of Chicago and Christ’s College, Cambridge. The author of over 70 scientific articles, four books, and over 40 patents, Dr. Wyatt is also a registered Patent Agent with the U.S. Patent Office. He has over 40 years of experience in laser light scattering and is Founder and CEO of Wyatt Technology Corporation, the world’s leading developer and manufacturer of laser light scattering instruments. He was named “Graduate of Distinction for 2003” by the Florida State University. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society where he was Chair of its largest unit, the Forum on Industrial and Applied Physics. Dr. Wyatt is also a Fellow of the Optical Society of America, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
He was selected as one of 15 finalists of the first U. S. Scientist Astronaut selection program, but remained behind on Earth.
He was also awarded the 2009 American Physical Society Prize for Industrial Applications of Physics. The Prize was presented at the APS March 2009 annual meeting in Pittsburgh, PA, with the citation “For pioneering developments in the physics of the inverse scattering problem: new applications of laser light scattering and the successful sustained commercialization of new related analytical methods and instrumentation.”
John Flanagan, Vice President for Marketing and Sales, is the founder of the Disaster Warning Network, an early commercial venture alerting the Nation to the inherent dangers of airborne pollution and other hazards to lives and property.
Other WAS current staff include two additional Ph. D. physicists currently working part time on the systems pending transition to full-time status.
